BONFIGLIOLI VECTRON GmbH | About us | Bionic

The technical use of natural principles

The solution of this apparent contradiction is the task of bionics, a modern scientific discipline. It is applied in a wide field with various sub-disciplines, such as process bionics, the field to which BONFIGLIOLI VECTRON GmbH devotes its attention. The goal of process bionics is to develop new methods combining both technical efficiency and the careful treatment of resources and nature.

Classical methods on the other hand lead to a consumption of resources and the production of waste whereas nature, for example, has produced total recycling and the use of solar energy (photosynthesis).

BONFIGLIOLI VECTRON GmbH takes up ideas from nature and transfers these to the application possibilities of its own products.
Organisms impressively prove that with optimal energy budgeting, even extreme conditions can be overcome. One starting point is thus the flexible regulation and control of the energy consumption of systems.

For example, heating systems which are controlled by BONFIGLIOLI VECTRON GmbH frequency inverters have been successfully used in large buildings and have enabled cost savings of up to two thirds through a controlled operation.

BONFIGLIOLI VECTRON GmbH the path to bionic drives

A further example is that of a 30t haulage vehicle with a hydraulic drive. It was above all the high maintenance costs that moved the operator to convert to an electric drive, the work being carried out by BONFIGLIOLI VECTRON GmbH and an engineering office. The use of frequency inverters proved ideal since not only could the machine be operated as and when required, but energy consumption savings of around 70% were also achieved: a step along the way to bionic drives - quiet, economical and gentle.
