LON-connected VCB 400 frequency inverter

In building automation, the decentralized components of the analog controls have been replaced by connected DDC automation systems in the course of the last 10 years.

This step has been taken in order to be able to develop more complex building functions with regard to energy management and conceptional building strategies. For the operators, this however meant binding to one DDC manufacturer's product. In order to do away with this dependence, the LON bus has been developed, enabling the operator to be able to buy components for his DDC network independent of a manufacturer, provided the components have the possibility of an LON connection.

To match the market development, BONFIGLIOLI VECTRON GmbH Elektronik has developed an LON application for LON works (free topology) for its inverters according to the LONMARK profile, making a complete control of the frequency inverter possible via an external LON control or a field encoder. In addition, all the important operational data for the long-term data registration and status reports as well as for the subsequent process administration can be read out.

For implementation and parameterization of the VCB 400 frequency inverters in the LON network, a plug-in module is available for LNS 2.0 and LNS 3.0.
